Del Mar Lodge 1350 Annual Veterans Day Celebration and Awards Program. Del Mar Lodge 1350 will host its annual Veterans Day and Veterans Community Service Award Program was held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 starting with a meal at 6:00PM with the program to start at 7:00PM. This was an Open Called Meeting and the public was invited to attend. The program consisted of a short history of Veterans Day Presentation, a Tribute to those who served, a presentation on Freemasonry and the Military, and Awards Presentation to one of the three semifinalist groups who have provided significant service to veterans of the Coastal Bend, and recognition of veterans in attendance.
The three semifinalist that were receiveed by the Awards Committee were:
Baldemar Perez, DAV
Don Larson, FRA
Martin Longoria, Nueces County Veterans Service Office
Two awards were presented from upon these semifinalists. The finalists wias announced at the program. The Veterans Community Service Award was awarded to Martin Longoria and the Community Builder's Award was awarded to Donald Larson. All of the semifinalist were awarded the Spirit of '76 Award for recognition for Outstand Community Service to Veterans of the Coastal Bend. These were presented by the John J. Harris Chapter 397 National Sojourners President, Don Miller and Sec/Tres. Tom Wimberly.
Refreshments will be served after the program, and tours of the Lodge will be available to anyone wishing to learn about Freemasonry.
