Del Mar Lodge #1350 A.F. & A. M. annually
provides educational scholarships ranging from $500.00 to $1000.00 to
graduating seniors of the Coastal Bend and Del Mar College students. A major consideration in the selection
process is the many barriers facing high-performing, low-income students who are "in the middle", who are
interested in post-secondary education but don't qualify for financial aid because they make too much but at the same time their family income is such that it stresses the resources when having to pay for higher education. The
scholarship can be awarded to a student who is pursuing a College Degree
(Associates or Higher), a Trade Degree, or a Professional Certificated Program
(AC&R, Truck Driver, Nurse’s Aide, or other such recognized certificate
programs).
The Del Mar Lodge Scholarship Committee contacts the College and Career Counselors (C&CC) at Corpus Christi area public schools advising them that the Lodge is looking for one or more worthy applicants. The C&CC is asked to screen their seniors for a student who meets the following requirements (Student and C&CC initial each bullet):
