Del Mar Lodge 1350 conducted its Annual Shop with A Mason before Christmas at the Walmart Super Center on Saratoga Blvd. Four needy families from two CCISD schools, Meadowbrook Elementary and Haas MS, were taken on a shopping field trip. Each family was given $300. The kids got $50 to buy Christmas gifts for their parents. And the parents had $250 to spend on their children. Masons and Ladies from Del Mar Lodge 1350 along with staff from the two-school assist with the shopping.
The Walmart Store Manager gave the Lodge a $250 gift card towards the shopping. Lodge members and other Masons contributed towards the program as did a generous shopper who gave each of the 11 children $20 to buy any item for themselves. All the gifts were tagged and taken to the Lodge where they were gift-wrapped on Saturday morning, December 8 starting at 11:00AM. They were placed under the tree until Wednesday, December 12, when the Lodge hosted a Holiday Party for these families, the school officials, Masons and family. Celebration started at 7:00PM.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will pass out the presents after some fun and game, and of course lots of goodies. Each family will also be given a large Holiday Food Basket that will contain a ham, turkey, lots of sides, treats and other cooking needs. Marie Privott was the Holiday Program Coordinator. For further information email her at marieprivott@gmail.com. You can see lots of photos of this program and the many others done or scheduled by the Lodge below and on our Facebook Page.
