Del Mar Lodge 1350 Annual Awards Program 2016
Del Mar Lodge 1350 held its Annual Awards Program on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. It was a full-house with standing room only. We started with a great meal prepared by Al Linderman. The program started at 7:00 PM, with a short talk on Freemasonry followed by presentations of awards.
The Golden Trowel was presented to Chuck Checklick for his dedicated service to the Lodge. The Golden Trowel is the highest award a Lodge can give to one of its members in a year. The Community Builders Award Trophy was presented to Trevino Funeral Homes for their service to the Veterans Community in the Coastal Bend. The award was give back in November, but the Trophy was out of stock at the time the award was made, so the Lodge re-presented the award. The Lamar Awards were given to five individuals from CCISD. Two Librarians, two School Nurses and a Fifth Grade Student. Recipients were: Danny Canales, Librarian, Fannin Elementary, Barbara Dunk, Librarian, Gibson Elementary, Amy Jordan, Nurse, Montclair Elementary, Debbie Wright, Nurse, Meadowbrook Elementary, and Alexandria Lopez, 5th Grade Scholar, Meadowbrook Elementary. The Lamar Award recognizes individuals for outstanding achievement in education. Three $1,000 Scholarships were awarded to area students. Aspen Stinson, King High School will be going to TAMU-CC and majoring in History and Band Director. Javier Martinez, Carol High School will be going to TAMU-CC majoring in Nursing. And Faith Chandler, Del Mar College is majoring in Psychology. Certificates of Recognition were awarded to Joe Privott, Kasen Anderson, Vince Muscarello, Dotti Checklick, Jimmie Goodman, Kevin Franklin, Mark Franklin and Gentry Plumbing. These individuals provided service, time and devotion to the Craft throughout the Masonic Year 2015-2016. Past Masters were recognized for the service to the Lodge and Masonry. They were: Jimmie Goodman, Joe Fernandez, Joe Del Leon, Jim Falwell, and Archie Domaschk. The program was concluded with everyone retiring to the dining hall for cake and refreshments. A wonderful evening was had by all. |
