Del Mar Lodge 1350 has conducted an annual Winter Clothing for the Needy Drive for a number of years, and has decided to continue this worthy program. The Winter Clothing for the Needy Drive began on October 1, 2014 and continued through November 5, 2014.
The Lodge requested items such as winter coats, jackets, sweaters and other items useful in the coming winter months. Donated items were dropped off at the Lodge during meeting nights, or by contacting a Lodge Officer or member about pickups.
All items donated were given to the Salvation Army at social and meal hour prior to the Lodge meeting. Channel Six & 10 News conducted interviews with the Commander of the Corpus Christi Salvation Army, Major & Brother Terryl Ray and the Master of the Lodge WM Archie Domaschk. Segments were shown on the 10:00pm news that night and on the morning news program.
Jim Falwell, Senior Warden was the Coat Drive Chairman. For information about the Winter Clothing Drive for the Needy, he can be reached by phone at 361 537-4283 and by email at SW.DelMarLodge1350@gmail.com.
